The changing of the seasons is a great time to give your interior home design a refresh. There are plenty of new styles that have come onto the scene in 2021 that help create a cozy fall atmosphere. Here’s a look at some of our favorites.
Warm and Neutral Is In
We’ve seen a big resurgence in warm and neutral colors when people are making their paint selections. Warm shades are soothing and inviting, helping to cultivate that traditional, cozy feeling that we often associate with fall. Sticking to more neutral color schemes allows walls to work well with a wide variety of pictures, artwork, and other hung items. You don’t need to worry about your decor clashing with your paint selection.
Comfy Fabrics and Natural Textures
We’ve also seen an uptick in people choosing soft fabrics and natural textures for their home furnishings — and even certain selections in the home-building process! Furry fabrics, woven poufs, wool blankets, flannel throws, and even sweater pillows provide an added sense of texture to your space. They can turn any part of the house into a cozy nook, bringing a sense of warmth that will feel extra inviting on those chilly mornings.
Layering beds create a soft, fluffy look that is undeniably cozy. And with colder weather around the corner, this is the perfect time for some added layers for extra warmth. After adding the sheets and a duvet, you can create additional texture and patterns by laying a second duvet over the bottom of the bed, then placing a coverlet across the middle. Follow this up by layering standard pillows in front of sham pillows.
